 Social Insurance for people working abroad is contained here.

 It covers Social Insurance and EC Regulations for workers who go from one country to another covered by these

 Regulations and Bilateral Social Security Agreements for people moving between Ireland and the other countries

 involved.

        Social Insurance and/et EU Regulations  

        The EU Regulations apply to people who travel and work within the European Economic Area (EEA).

 

       The EC Regulations :

  • you receive the same treatment in social security matters as nationals of the above countries where you go to work and,

  • periods of social insurance in any of these countries can be used to help you qualify for social security benefits here and,

  • you and your family can receive the benefits to which you are entitled in whichever EEA country you may be.

       The EC Regulations only cover:

  • workers and people getting social security benefits who are nationals of any of these countries and people with the status of stateless people or refugees living permanently in any of these countries and,

  • the dependants and survivors of these people.

 

                          

                       

 Benefits Covered Couvertures Bénéfits :

  • Disability and Maternity Rights (including health care)

  • Benefits for an accident at work or occupational disease

  • Invalidity Pension

  • Old Age (Contributory) and Retirement Pension

  • Widow’s or Widower’s and Orphan’s (Contributory) Pensions

  • Unemployment Benefit

  • Child Benefit

  • Death Grant

  • Treatment Benefit

 The Regulations allow periods of social insurance in any of these countries to be combined so that a worker may

 qualify for a benefit or pension.

 

 Child Benefit - Allocation Familiale Enfants

  In general, Child Benefit is paid by the country where the worker is employed, regardless of where the family of the

  worker lives.

 

 EEC REGULATION

  Any European worker shall only pay personal taxation upon incomes acquired in the Country where he is employed

  and this in whatever Country he is resident.

  The Countries themselves will compensate each other as per internal conventions.

  Chaque Employé Européen ne payera que ses impôts personnels dans le Pays ou ils est employé  , et ceci

  n'importe dans quel Pays de la CEE , il est Résident.
